KENOSHA COUNTY YOUTH ICE FISHING DERBY
The 1st annual Kenosha County Youth Ice Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, February 4 at KD Park ~ 35610 - 89th St., Twin Lakes. The Derby is open to children 16 and under and will run from 7am - noon. There is a $2.00 registration fee. This derby is sponsored by Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser and the Kenosha County Parks. For more information and a list of rules click here.
UNION GROVE LIONS CLUB PANCAKE BREAKFAST
The Union Grove Lions Club will hold their 25th annual Pancake Breakfast at St. Robert Bellermine Church, 3329 S. Colony Ave., Union Grove on Saturday, February 4 from 7:00 - 11:30am. The breakfast consists of all you can eat pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, beverage, milk and coffee. Adult tickets are $6.00 in advance or $6.50 at the door, Children (4 - 12) $3.00 in advance or $3.50 at the door, under 4 are FREE.
WILMOT HIGH SCHOOL LISTENING SESSION
The Wilmot High School District Administrator, Dan Kopp will be hosting a Listening Session on February 8 at 5:30pm in Room 180 at the High School. These meeting will occur every 2 - 3 months and there will be no specific agenda. The District Administrator will be present in order to hear your comments and answer your questions. Occasionally, those in attendance may be asked for their opinion or guidance on a specific topic/issue. All parents/guardians, students, and community members are welcome.
MIXED SMOKER
St. Alphonsus School will be holding their 23rd Annual Mixed Smoker fundraiser to benefit the school on Saturday, February 11 at Marino's County Aire located at 34816 Geneva Rd., New Munster. Doors open at 7pm. Admission is $10 which includes beverages, snacks, soda and a light dinner later that evening. Bring your favorite game to play, meet up with friends, family and neighbors to help support the school. There will also be raffles. FISH BOIL FUNDRAISER St. Alphonsus School is holding a fish boil on February 24, 2012 to benefit the Eighth Grade Class Trip to Washington D.C. The fish boil will be held in the St. Alphonsus Parish Center from 4:30 - 8:30pm. Advance adult ticket price $10.00 or $10.50 at the door, advance children (4 - 11) $4.00 or $4.50 at the door. This is an all you can eat boiled fish, potatoes, onions, carrots, coleslaw, dessert, milk and coffee. Grilled Cheese sandwiches and carry outs are also available. Advance tickets can be purchased in the school office.
TWIN LAKES SKATE PARK MEETING
The Twin Lakes Skate Park committee would like to thank everyone who offered their time, support and donations for their fundraising events in 2011. It's time to begin fundraising again for 2012. The committee needs people to help with this project. There will be a meeting on February 28 at 7:30pm at the Twin Lakes Village Hall, 108 E. Main St., Twin Lakes. The future of this project will be determined by the outcome of this meeting. Please plan on attending.
